I bought these for work, I am a nursing supervisor. I thought, if I am doing all this walking, I might as well get some extra benefit, right? Well, I had no idea how comfortable these would be. They take a little getting used to, but after a few days, it’s like gliding on air. I have bunions on both feet, and any time I walk at a fast pace, they were hurting. My mom had the surgery for this, and I was thinking I would need to be having it myself soon. In these shoes, I can do all the brisk walking I want and my bunions do not hurt one bit. Also, I have been wearing these for a month and there is a noticeable difference in the way my legs and behind look and feel. The biggest difference is in the calf area, my calves are literally rock hard now. You don’t think they are giving you a toning benefit while you are wearing them, but when you take them off, your legs and behind are sore like you were working out. If you are on the fence about buying these- they are worth every penny! They are true to size for me, usually wearing a 9 and taking a 9 in these also. I love them so much that I bought the Mary Janes and I bought my husband a pair, he loves them also.

I bought these same shoes else where (only place that would put them on sale for less than 99.00). br /Cons: They are pricey for stay at home mom, but got them finally on sale. Have had 4 weeks. Wear daily around house and errands. Power walk 4-6 days a week (outside and on a treadmill). Daughter likes to take shortcut through woods on walks an these shoes are NOT good on uneven ground. I can’t walk fast then because twisting an ankle in woods would be very easy (I know their not meant for over terran hiking). Once to more stable ground they’re great.br /After first week, the right shoe feels like something is adding pressure in a line on the sole (metatarsal part of foot). It starts to really hurt an burn after 30 of power walking. I’ve not read any other complaints about this. My assumption is that where the soles are glued together someone got a little heavy with the glue line or something. It feels like I’m walking with a shoe lace stuck under my foot. Could be just this pair of shoes defect.br /Size was bit small. My normal is 7 1/2 to 8 in tennis shoes. The 8 was touching my toes just enough that I knew for power walking they’d hurt. Got the 8 1/2 even though they feel slighty to big, but I like to wear 2 pair of socks to prevent blisters. Put with this also the heal slips some because they don’t fit my heel as good.br /br /Pros: Works muscles not usually used. They have helped defined my calf muscles (not something I really needed more of, but muscle is muscle an burns more calories). Unless your in shape, I wouldn’t recommend doing lots of walking in them right off. I can feel it in my glutes an thighs, but not as much.br /I have a herniated disc so the extra shock cushioning is very nice.br /They do add spring to your step. It does feel better than shoes I’ve used with gel or air cushioning.br /The extra 2″ of height. I wear my long jeans over them an you don’t even notice that they’re a platform shoe.br /Very comfortable to wear all day, especially for hospital or clinic (cement) floors.br /br /Over all, I’m seriously thinking of saving for another pair.

The “Metabolize” was the first style of Skechers Shape Ups that I purchased. I was skeptical about paying a hundred bucks for a pair of sneakers, but had a brick-n-mortar store gift card left over from Christmas and thought it provided a great opportunity for me to try them without paying the full price. I was pleasantly surprised and wore the shoes on a quick trip to the grocery store first to ease into them and become comfortable walking in them. They’re absolutely great! The cushioning is unbelieveable and the foot naturally rolls from the heel, through the arch, and presses off from the ball and toe propelling you into the next step. I quickly became hooked on these shoes and wanted to wear them all the time. I was so glad to find a variety of styles on Amazon that were all slightly cheaper than brick-n-mortar stores (free shipping and no sales tax!). I used my iPad money to purchase more Shape Ups instead!:-)br /br /Needless to say, I heartily recommend these shoes as they have alleviated my knee, low back and heel issues, as well as adjusted my posture. There is an instructional DVD that comes with the shoes and I’ve enjoyed doing the 15 and 30 minute workouts included. The only downside to Shape Ups is standing stationary since the shoes aren’t flat. You may have to adjust your weight to find a comfortable position if you’re standing still for a period of time. I use those times (like waiting in line at the grocery store) to do the “rock and roll” and stretch my calf muscles. So you can still ’shape up’ whether you’re moving or not!

My left knee has no cartilage in it and walking is painful. Since I have bought these shoes, it has strengthened my knees tremendously and I have had virtually no pain. The limp I used to have because of a painful walk, has gone away completely. For the first time in years, I can walk normally. My husband also bought a pair and he swears his back is stronger and he is sold on them as well. A little pricey, but worth every penny.

Wow, a pair of shoes that come with a DVD! I laughed myself silly and continued laughing as I watched. Then I wore the shoes for 2 hours and had to take them off, my legs and butt hurt! I was a Marine and that is the last time I ever ran, but this brought back long repressed memories of that ‘good’ running burn. It took me a while to work back up to the 5 K walk with my dog and it’s now a real workout. It’s also very good for your posture, tilts your hips correctly and keeps your feet aligned correctly. I wear out the outside of my heels and I tore my knees up years ago rollerblading, so I know how important it is to keep my feet positioned or suffer bursa pain. No problem with these shoes. I love them! I bought them with a birthday gift certificate, now I am saving up for my future replacement. I love he fell of a run without running ;-)
