This is where it all began. For the first time ever, faithful recreations of Tetsuya Nomura’s character illustrations have been modeled into high quality action figures, bringing the characters of the original FINAL FANTASY VII to life.
At first glance Aerith appears to be a simple, naive flower girl living in the slums of Midgar, but there is much much more to her story. The last of a race known only as the Ancients, Aerith joins Cloud in his pursuit of Sephiroth while herself being pursued by Shinra. As the last of her kind, Aerith has a destiny only she can fulfill. With over 18 points of articulation, this figure is highly poseable. Comes equipped with her “Guard Stick” and variant hands.

This figure is very detailed, and almost realistic, I have not played around with the figure and still in it’s packaging, so I don’t know about the poseability, but I take it from the other reviews here, that it is indeed poseable. This figure is the most detailed figure that I have seen since the “Mario Family” figures, except the “Mario Family” figures are not poseable. This figure is also pretty good size as well, unlike most figures which are usually like 1/2″ to maybe 2″ in size, this one makes all them looks incredibly small.

When it comes to Final Fantasy VII, I have a very specific group of characters that I love, and Yuffie is one of them. I wasn’t even aware of this particular line of play arts designs until I googled around for another kotobukiya Yuffie figure, but while that one is more strictly based on the original Nomura artwork, this one caught my attention and held it. Rarely do you ever see such attention to anatomy and detail of this style in figures, especially in regards to bone structure. It fits right into the way I like to draw the female form.br /br /After having acquired this particular figure, I’ll definitely try to get around to picking up Cid (my other favorite FF7 character), and perhaps the Advent Children version of Yuffie. Definitely a stylishly appealing take on the FF characters.

This is truly a great product if your a fan of Final Fantasy VII or of Final Fantasy in general. The figure is detailed and well articulated and surprisingly durable. The image of Tifa is captured perfectly, from her distinct “dolphin tail” hairstyle to her top-heavy proportions. All of her joints move smoothly and stay in place. Her legs tend to slide out of the sockets if raised to high as in a kicking pose, but easily snap back into place. Her hands are interghangeable to make an open hand or a fist. My only complaint is that she lacks the up and down joint on her ankles that the other play arts have, which is unusual since her feet are her weapons. Aside from that, this figure achieves perfection in Tifa’s image.
