I’m a former 30:00 flat 10K runner from my college days (long ago, alas). After piling on the miles, years and lately, pounds, my genetically feeble arches have given way. I now have Stage 2 PTT and every other arch problem in the podiatrist’s handbook. When I die I will leave my arches to science. I love his shoe as a wear-around and gym shoe. The support and control are superb. The build quality and durability are second to none. They also hold orthotics well. I will always own a pair of these shoes. However at 170 lbs., I find I just can’t run well in them (maybe 10-15 miles a week these days). As another reviewer noted, if you are under about 175, they are almost too stiff and seem quite hard. I just can’t “push” the cushioning hard enough. From what I hear from some of my Clydesdale runner friends these shoes really come into their own for people over 200. This is just a fantastic shoe — but like all shoes, it has its limitations.
